Timothy Wittig is an applied social scientist and Conservation Scientist / Senior Wildlife Trafficking Analyst for the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS)

My research focuses on understanding the social determinants of illicit wildlife trafficking, terrorist finance, and transnational organized crime, and evidence-based approaches to addressing them.

Professionally, I have worked in government and the private sector, and also held various university research and faculty positions at National Defense University in Washington DC, the University of Amsterdam, and the University of St Andrews. 

I live in Nairobi, Kenya and work primarily in Africa and Asia.
